Ask any rehab centre or clinic what therapy a programme actually includes day to day, since the word covers everything from one-to-one counselling to group work and family sessions, and aftercare therapy often continues once a residential stay ends. None of this replaces the safety advice above: if you are already dependent, get medical advice before you stop or cut down.

Private residential rehab is priced per week or per month, and the setting drives most of the difference. As an indicative guide from published directory listings rather than a quote, residential rehab in England is commonly listed at around £12,000 to £40,000 a month, rising well beyond that at the luxury end, with very little credible under £10,000 a month. Funding routes are limited: a place funded through the NHS community service is free but rationed and not guaranteed, private self-funding is the usual route for a residential stay, and some centres offer payment plans. Health insurance rarely covers residential rehab in full, so check any policy carefully before you count on it.
