That is genuinely a local option, but it comes with a caveat worth being honest about: these are among the most expensive residential rehab programmes in the country, aimed largely at a luxury market. If cost is your barrier, the free NSW service above is the better place to begin, and residential detox or rehab can also be reached at no cost by referral through it.

As a guide to price, published directory and provider listings put private residential rehab programmes in the Byron area into the tens of thousands of dollars for a stay, and at the ultra-luxury end well beyond AU$100,000 for a short residential programme. Many local centres quote fees on enquiry rather than publishing them, so confirm the exact figure directly before you rely on it.

Who pays whom	No referral fees are paid or accepted, in either direction. Nobody earns a commission for sending you here, which is worth checking about any centre you are comparing.
What the clinical work is	Three group sessions a day five days a week, individual therapy three times a week, and a seventeen-module psychoeducation curriculum. The approach adapts the method of PROMIS Clinics, treating addiction in the United Kingdom since 1986.
Where the limits are	It is not a hospital and not a detox unit. Where a medically supervised detox is clinically needed it is completed in an appropriate medical setting before admission and billed separately. Qualified nurses are part of the team throughout the stay.
Who you speak to first	Our admissions team, all of them clinicians, working to the standards set by our clinical director. The assessment is free, and if a service closer to home suits you better, we will say so.
What happens afterwards	Aftercare is agreed before you leave: a session every week for a full year, online or in person at the PROMIS clinics in London, which is more than 48 sessions in the twelve months after discharge. A written handover goes to your GP so nothing has to be explained from scratch.

Which option is right for you

Start with the free NSW service or the ADIS helpline if you are unsure, if cost is the barrier, or if you want to stay near family and work; residential care can be reached through it at no cost, and it can address mental health and substance use together where both are present. Use AA or NA alongside whatever you choose. A private rehab centre in Byron Bay makes sense if you want intensive residential care close to home and can meet its premium fees, or if a private health fund covers part of the cost; residential rehab can offer structure and distance from your usual triggers even without leaving the region.
